ABOUT US: All In One Text Box

MISSION

The Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes helps communities thrive in an age of climate uncertainty. Our goal is to improve the capacity of the world’s most vulnerable people, places, and ecologies to adapt to the complex shocks and stresses that they face.

Through research and interdisciplinary design workshops intended to push holistic design, funding, and implementation of innovative projects in a range of global contexts, the Center extends Columbia University’s leadership in climate-related work in support of collaborations with external partners to engage the most serious and challenging issues of our time. Through academic programming, the Center integrates resilience thinking into design education, bringing real-world challenges into the classroom to train future generations of design leaders.
